Representing an initiative with distinct goals and operation mechanism, Cycladic Identity assumed the legal status of a non-profit company in March 2023, founded by two partners, the Nicholas & Dolly Goulandris Foundation- Museum of Cycladic Art, and Katherine Embiricos.
THE MUSEUM OF CYCLADIC ART
The Museum of Cycladic Art has operated since 1986 to house and display the private collection of antiquities of Dolly and Nikolaos Goulandris. It is a living cultural institution in the center of Athens that focuses on the promotion of the ancient civilizations of the Aegean and Cyprus, through its permanent collections of 3.000 objects of Cycladic, Ancient Greek and Ancient Cypriot art. Special emphasis is put on Cycladic art of the 3rd millennium BC, holding one of the most comprehensive private collections of Cycladic art in the world, with representative specimens of the world-famous Cycladic marble figurines.
The Museum additionally produces educational and community work, through programs specially designed and implemented within and beyond the Museum’s premises.
