The first program of the Cycladic Identity Initiative in Ios has been completed

The first program of the Cycladic Identity Initiative of the Museum of Cycladic Art entitled “Cycladic Youth Gaze”, realized by Cinemathesis, has just been completed on the island of Ios. The program was presented to the inhabitants of the island on Sunday, March 31st in Chora, Ios.

The program of Cinemathesis consisted of a cinematic educational workshop for secondary school students in Ios. It addressed an invitation to the teenagers of the island to reveal the island’s contemporary identity, its landmarks, local history, landscape architecture, art, and its techniques.

The program’s activities included theoretical and technical training of the participants, shooting and editing of the produced material, and public presentation of the work. Students attending the Valeteio Gymnasium with High School Classes of Ios, the 1st Vocational High School of Ios and the 6th grade of the Primary School of Ios participated in the program. The film has been delivered to the school units and to the Municipality of Ios, and in addition to its recent presentation to the residents of the island, it will also be used in other cultural events of the Municipality and the teachers of Ios.
