The program “Games from generation to generation through the passage of time” has been completed

The Cycladic Identity Initiative program of the Museum of Cycladic Art, titled “Games from generation to generation through the passage of time” was completed on Amorgos and implemented by the Parents & Guardians Association of the Students of the Primary School and Kindergarten of Katapola Amorgos in collaboration with the Municipality of Amorgos.

Α program dedicated to preserving the island’s heritage through intergenerational exchange.

“Games from generation to generation through the passage of time” explores the traditional games once played by children on the island. Blending research, oral history, and hands-on participation, the initiative brought together elderly members of the community to share their memories and teach these time-honored games to the younger generation—reviving not only the games themselves, but also the stories and values woven into them.

Students showcased the games they had learned, while delegations of students and teachers from other schools of the Small Cyclades also participated in the event, highlighting the program’s broader educational and cultural significance.
