“Cycladic Youth Gaze”, presentation of the educational workshop of Cinemathesis

We invite you to a small celebration to enjoy together the artistic footprint of the children and teenagers of Ios island who participated in the program of Cinemathesis “Cycladic Youth Gaze”, which was implemented with the funding of the new initiative of the Museum of Cycladic Art, Cycladic Identity.

The “Cycladic Youth Gaze” is a cinematographic educational workshop for secondary school students of Ios, inviting each of them to shoot a one-minute, single-shot video art piece to reveal the invisible side of their island, the landmarks, the history, and the arts of their island. Students of the Valeteio Gymnasium with Lyceum Classes of Ios, the 1st Vocational Lyceum of Ios and the 6th class of the Primary School of Ios participated in the program.

PROGRAM

– Welcome by Yanna Deligianni, Founder of Cinemathesis
– Speech by Theano Agaloglou, Project Manager of the Cycladic Identity Initiative of the Museum of Cycladic Art
– Speech by the Mayor of Ios, Gikas Gikas
– A few words from students and teachers who participated in the project
– Music by the young pianists of the island
– Screening of the program “Cycladic Youth Gaze”
– Traditional dances of a group of children and teenagers of the island
– Passage of the Cultural Club “Finike”

Participants will have the chance to see photos of the program and receive a card postal as a souvenir.



Cycladic Identity is the new initiative of the Museum of Cycladic Art, which aims to protect the cultural and natural heritage of the Cyclades and to preserve, restore and promote their unique identity. Its focus areas are Culture, Biodiversity, and Intangible Heritage. One of the 9 programs that are being implemented this year in the Cyclades, is ” Cycladic Youth Gaze ” in Ios.
